Steel constructions for buildings of Kiln line modernization at Ciment Calcia Plant in Couvrot France

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solution (France), awarded to METEKO, the modeling and fabrication of steel structures for the modernization of Couvrot kiln line, ownership of Ciments Calcia (Heidelberg Cement). The project included fabrication and application of anticorrosion protection and delivery ex-works in Komotini facilities. The project contained a group of structures (5 new buildings, reinforcing an existing building, handrails, checkered plates & box girder pilons), including built-up H,I type beams. The project was completed in November 2020. Material grade was S275 & S355 and bolts grade was 8.8 & 10.9. Total structure weight was 800tn.

METEKO’s added value to the project, besides providing high quality and on time deliveries, included the development of inhouse sophisticated software to handle welding information in received Tekla models from client. With the aid of this software METEKO managed to provide excellent quality results, a detailed reported inspection and quality control of the project and reduction in materialization duration of the project.
